Why internships matter?

Obtaining hands-on experience: By participating in an internship, you will be given the opportunity to acquire practical experience that is relevant to our field.  If you are still in college and have not had the opportunity to gain experience working in a professional work environment, this is an exceptionally helpful resource to your career path.

An internship will help you build a stronger résumé by providing you with relevant job experience and skills that you can mention.  When the moment arises for you to apply for jobs in the future, mentioning the experience and these talents acquired during your internship this makes make you more competitive.

Internships are also excellent ways to establish network in the field. It is likely that you will have the chance to interact and work with other experienced professionals and learn from them; this provides a useful opportunity to network with other professionals.

On the other hand it is completely alright to be unsure if you desire to get into the photography industry yet. Under such circumstances an internship with a professional photographer is an especially helpful. You get to tip your toes in the water and figure out with first hand experience if you are cut out of the industry or not.

An internship, generally, can be a valuable learning experience that really can assist you in acquiring skills and experience, building your résumé, and making connections in the sector that interests you.
