You are?

Hi, my name is Damayanti and I’m a student. I’m pursuing journalism and mass communication and besides that, I’m a professional model.

Since how long have you been modeling?

Well it’s been two years after 2016 I have started and it’s been two years but it seems like it’s a long journey.

Describe yourself with four adjectives, please.

Confident

Dedicated

Little bit sassy

Naughty.

Your closest friends also know you as…

Dami. Dami that’s my short form.

What inspired you to choose to model as your career?

Well, it was not really planned at all. I just gave an audition at my college. Rather my friends put my name in it and I just gave the audition even with really free mind and I got selected and that was a very proud moment I must say and then after that is just going on. I never looked back.

What I learned is, yeah I think the confidence and the most interesting part is that you got to travel all the areas many places and I love traveling and also the confidence the charm, the beauty which it has this profession is really really appreciable.

Which is one incident where you goofed up while working?

Well yeah in my first pageant only it was Clean and Clear fresh-faced 2015 it was and I literally deny it to wear a designers dress and I just said no in front of the designer she’s a very well-known designer.

I don’t want to mention the name but she’s a worldwide well-known designer so and then the authority who were there and they were like “Come on girl! What are you doing? just say yes and wear it” and that was the most beautiful dress among all and I just said straight on the face no I just can’t wear it and she just looked at me like like I’m the first person in the world who’s saying no to the hot dress and but later on I wore it.

I got big appreciation and also I liked it later also and now when I look back the picture that’s like, oh my god I looked so good! though I apologize for that a designer later.

What is your favorite brand and why?

I don’t have any favorites. it’s just I use everything, whatever I like.

What is your go-to song?

Capital Letters by Hailee Steinfield.

Did you know Model Riya Bhattacharjee’s go-to song in the last post?

You wouldn’t be caught wearing a…

I’ll never be caught wearing bell bottoms. I don’t like.

Your first shoot with Pomegranate?

It was for Vedika and it was a great experience though I was a little bit confused and also a little bit pressurized in the beginning part.

but later on Rahul just made it so easy and he instructed me in such a good way that I was like going with the flow and I did good.

You will quit your job to intern for…

I think nothing because I am very much into this profession and I won’t make any comprise with it.

What is your success mantra for aspiring models?

My juniors? Alright, well stay dedicated first of all and it’s not gonna be easy at the beginning because you’re gonna face lots of trouble, humiliations, ignorance. Well just go through it hold on and go through it because only then you can reach the path of success so just hold on stay dedicated stay confident and just go through it and just don’t break down.

What are the things that you learned that stuck with you since?

Well timing. It’s very important. I used to be a very lazy person and I was never on time and it made me a little bit punctual and staying positive and confident that’s very important and also dedicated and hardworking. I have like I have worked hard since since last one and a half year and yeah really I do appreciate myself in that.

If you were to describe Studio Pomegranate in three words, what would they be?

It’s good. I mean clean, big and comfortable.

Your inspiration?

My mom, of course, she is. She always supported me throughout my life or whatever decision I have made. She has trusted me, she have gave given me the freedom to do whatever I want and follow my dreams so yeah she’s the one.
