In this episode Studio Pomegranate put Model Saachi Bhasin on the hot seat and ask her some questions. Saachi is an amazing Model. For us she is this crazy fun girl who can pull a dead pan face and then go I was just joking ya. Never a dull moment with this one we say!
You are?
My name is Saachi Bhasin. I am a Kolkata based model as well as a social media influencer. Recently I got into social media influencing because it's in the same body if I could say. I just finished my college and now I am full time into modelling and social media influencing.
Introduce yourself with four adjective please.
I think four adjective that would describe me would be very curious. I am a curious person in general. I just wanna learn about everything. Fun, like you can see and of course amazing and awesome.
What inspired you to choose modelling as your career?
It kind of happened. I was walking in Quest and this lady noticed me and I started speaking to her and it was extremely coincidental and she told me “Why don't you model for my catwalk?” I had just lost our 25 kgs and I thought this is really exciting. Who doesn't want to be in front of a camera? It was really exciting and modelling really started picking up after that and I got big brands that I could work with like H&M, Mahindra Finance, Amrapali and things really started picking up.
Which is your favourite brand and why?
Are you sure I should say this in front of the camera? I love Zara, that’s my go to brand. In terms of luxury brands it would probably be Gucci.
Your first shoot with Studio Pomegranate?
I remember this, of course I do. It was for Vizyon, I was wearing that Vizyon gown. Remember that? Neha was there and Prasenjit was doing the makeup. It was fun shoot and I remember that love sac thing here in the studio.
What is your go to song?
Currently my go to song it's called Psycho by Post Malone
What about Chumme pe Chamanbrash?
I have heard this. I did not do google it at 12 a.m. I was not bored.
One styling tip that never gets old?
Minimalist makeup. I like earrings and you can see it's very natural. Doesn't get out of style.
Your closest friends also know you as…
This is extremely personal but I'll share it with you. So my name is Saachi Bhasin but my close friends call me Sachi Basin.
You couldn’t be caught wearing a…?
I couldn’t be caught wearing a frilly short bright dress.
Your inspiration?
Priyanka Chopra. I love her. I think she's done amazing things and she's whole; she's an icon for women empowerment, acting, just styling, beauty everything. She's a goddess.
What is your success mantra for aspiring models?
Be yourself, don't let anyone tell you to be a certain way. Do what comes naturally to you.
I don’t think you should change. I mean when I started off I wasn’t with the perfect height, I don't think I had the perfect body, I didn't think I would fit into Indian wear and ethnic wear. I had a lot of questions in my mind and I was not very sure about myself initially but I think what we are passionate about or what you're really confident about you will definitely find your way. So just be yourself. Be confident, be who you are. Don't let anyone tell you to be otherwise just be yourself and have fun; that's the most important thing.
If you were to describe Studio Pomegranate in three words, what would they be?
You make it so difficult, when you say three words, its very pressurizing on me. Can I just a lot of words?
Entertaining
Talented
Really Nice!
You will quite your job to intern for…?
I won’t know about a person as an intern but as a brand I would probably want to intern under Vogue or maybe a beauty company like Nyka because I feel you learn a lot, you know a lot about brands, you get to know what's trending, you know what is really required on the job and it gives you a holistic view about a lot of other things not just fashion or just particular area. On the job you know really get to know a lot about what is happening.
